Ingredient Details

Ungurahui oil (Oenocarpus Batauaau)

Famous among the local people of the Peruvian Amazon, Ungurahui is known as the secret to thick, lustrous, and also frizzy hair.

Oenocarpus batauau ´

There are many varieties of palm trees in the Peruvian forest. Some are used for housing construction, others for crafts, others as fruits. Ungurahui is part of the latter group. The ungurahui, whose scientific name is oenocarpus batana, is a palm that can measure up to 25 meters high. The fruit is a small dark berry, about 3 cm in diameter and with a sweet and sour flavor. It is consumed alone, in fruit juices and ice cream. Its nutritional value is comparable to that of meats and breast milk due to its high content of proteins, carbohydrates and essential fatty acids.

The use of the oil extracted from its berries is ancestral knowledge in the Amazon, and especially for indigenous women who use the pulp and oil to perform beauty rituals and naturally treat hair loss.

This fruit contains 63 times more vitamin E than avocados, which makes it a powerful antioxidant, preventing the spread of free radicals in tissues. And because it is fat-soluble, it is easily incorporated into cell membranes, protecting them from oxidative damage.

Ungurahui oil is also rich in oleic acid, which has a healing and regenerative effect on the cells of the scalp, and this is thanks to its absorption power in order to provide nourishing nutrients.
